 About the Author:

The Advancing Women Conference (AWC) was started in 2014 when a group of women leaders got together to discuss some of the opportunities and challenges that women face in the agricultural industry. From that discussion, it became obvious that there was a strong need for women in every sector of agriculture and food to hear and learn from the experiences of successful women. With this as our guiding principle, we created the first AWC in Calgary in April 2014 and we attracted 400 women from 6 provinces and 5 US states representing over 130 organizations! Since then, we’ve expanded to two conferences a year: one in Calgary each spring and one in Ontario each fall.  In March 2017, we held our 6th conference in Canada, and are proud that over 3,000 women have attended and been inspired by the messages of our women leaders.

AWC was created for women passionate about agriculture and food. Whether you are a university student studying agriculture, a producer, a rancher, a representative of a grower association or in corporate agri-business, this conference is an excellent opportunity to learn and network with your peers. AWC focuses on communication through coaching, mentoring and networking, financial management and independence, health and balance of life strategies, career planning and goal setting in all areas.
